Call for Papers: Clean Technology and its Impact on the Environment

Clean technology has become an important concept following growing international concerns with environmental issues. The Economic Section of Al-Siyassa Al-Dawliya would like to open this topic for debate in its next issue, April 2003. We are interested to receive proposals of possible contributions in 400-500 words -accompanied by a CV- via e-mail to: nona12@yahoo.com or nsaadany@mcit.gov.eg or ordinary mail to the journal's address, marked for the attention of Nermine Al-Saadany.

The topics to be covered by these contributions are:

1- General introduction:

i- current environmental conditions and the impact of human intervention
ii- defining the concept of clean technology and its areas of application, as well as how this concept can be applied in industry, agriculture and the services sector

2- Factors influencing the introduction of clean technology -which can be discussed in reference to particular case studies or countries-:

i- the role of international organisations in spreading clean technology
ii- current environmental conditions in a specific country
iii- the areas in which clean technology is being applied in Egypt and the international aid it receives in this respect.
